Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • How do you make the crust so flaky and tastes so buttery delicious?

A: It's all about using 100% PURE BUTTER and also applying a special technique and working on the dough in the right temperature. We have been tweaking this technique many times to get consistent results every time. Doing it in small batches definitely helps in getting the right texture too.

  • Are the Sweet Pies very sweet?

A: Not at all. For example, for our fruit-based pies, most of the sweetness come from fruit itself and we just add a tiny touch of brown sugar, cinnamon, etc. to enhance the flavor. And even the crust isn't too sweet. So, we'd say, it's grandma-approved! But if you do have a sweet-tooth, and need the Sweet Pies to be very sweet and indulgent, we suggest pairing it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

  • Are the pies healthy?

A: Each pie is made using real ingredients, from the fillings of both the Savory and Sweet Pies, to the crust, in which we use only real butter. For the Sweet Pies, we use very little amount of sugar in both the filling and the crust. And these are made fresh to order, in small batches, in our micro-bakery. So yes it's definitely so much healthier than the commercials ones!

  • Are the pies gluten-free?

A: Unfortunately our pies are not gluten-free. We are working towards having a gluten-free version one day! We will launch it once we are done tweaking and ready to present it to you.

  • How do I reheat the pie?

A: There are two methods of reheating your pies:

    1. Using Microwave Oven: If you need your pie crust soft, or if you're in a hurry, heat your pies on medium high power in 40 seconds.

    2. Using Toaster Oven / Convection Oven: If you need your pie crust crusty, and you have time, heat your pies at 170°C, for 5 minutes. Tent/cover the top of the pie using foil or baking paper, so that the top of the pie isn't burnt or over-baked.
(if your oven is small in size, and the top heating rods sits too near your pie, do not use baking paper to tent it, as the paper could catch fire. Use foil instead.)

*if you have kept your pies in the freezer (instead of fridge), please thaw it first on the counter for a few minutes before reheating using the above methods.

  • How do I best keep the pie fresh?
A: It is best eaten on the same day. But if you wanna store it and have it for later, you have either:

    1. Refrigerate it: Keep the pies in a covered container lined with baking paper. The baking paper helps absorb the water that could be present from air condensation inside the fridge. Store up to a maximum of 7 days for freshness. Further than that, you risk the pies attracting mold, as we do not use any preservatives in our recipes.

    2. Freeze it: Keep the pies in a covered container lined with baking paper. The baking paper helps absorb the water that could be present from air condensation inside the freezer. Store up to a maximum of 30 days for freshness. Further than that, they might go bad or become stale / lose their delicious taste.
